True and complete financial planning also involves making wise investment choices and decisions, not just using PPLAs’ “Always in Control” budgeting system. While our budgeting system is an underlying requirement of any successful financial plan, each of us should also use the advice of an experienced and effective financial planner.  This is so we know how to create an investment strategy and make appropriate changes to support our financial objectives.

For instance, here’s some of PPLA’s financial planning philosophy:

  • Take your net income and Live on 75%, Invest 20%, & Give Away 5%.
  • Diversify your investments in a variety of plans using our budgeting system as a guide to the types of investments you should use.
  • Segment your investments in regards to risk.  Use the chart below as a guide.
  • No less than yearly, monitor your net worth. Ensure you're gaining ground!
